Minnie have lots of great solo piracy ships such as: Jaguar Vagabond (the best solo hunting ship EVER) Machariel (both min and gallente) Tempest Typhoon Hugin sleipnir (great for empire solo piracy, can sentry tank without breaking a sweat. Kinda slow though, so bad when you get blobbed)
And the Gallente also have a nice array of ships that are great for solo piracy: ishkur taranis thorax (still about as good as it gets when it comes to t1) vexor (awesome with good drone skills) dominix (stabbajam. great for going solo) megathron (blasterboats are always fun for solo hunting) ishtar (see dominix) diemos (a little slow, but packs a big punch once you get a hold of somebody) gallente command ships(similar to diemos, slow, but heavy hitting, everybody fears the taste of the asstart) Lachesis is awesome, so is the arazu (but best with a partner)
Caldari and amarr work best in groups, although the curse is a nice solo ship.
I know you are a oldtimer in this game and still fly minnie ships... have you ever considered switching to gallente because of their insane damage? Or do you feel that minnie have other advantages that makes them better?
For me, the Vagabond is basicly the entire reason I started training minmatar in the first place. The gallente have lots of really good ships, but nothing like the Vaga. If minnie didnt have that ship, i would probably have went gallente from the start.
So whats your opinions on the two races?

Think ill go along the same path here. I hear you like to fly the vagabond alot... do you feel the ship is overpowered compared to the rest of the hacs?

Yeah, ill probably buy one of those in a year or so when i have good skills for them... also want to try the gallente ships a little bit later on, so the skill requirements for the Mach suits me fine.

Its not overpowered at killing. Its overpowered at running away. Which is the most valuable thing to have since 95% of eve can't operate without a herd.
There is nothing better than solo piracy, at least the times you find another solo pilot. I really hate not finding people though. So sometimes i do crazy suicidal things just to get a damn fight in this game.
Doesnt matter though, takes about 15 mins to get back the money lost when doing lvl 4 missions. Not sure why people dont take more risks tbh. Eve would be more fun if they did.

i find minmatar and amarr have a few good ships for the job (vaga, curse, pilgrim AC based ships) but gallente ships almost all are as effective if not more.
Its easy to get that feeling when reading these forums. Also i think gallente ships are in majority in the "State your ship, pirate!" thread. Of course not enough replies to make it official or anything, but....
Im going to stick with minnie ships for a while though... want to try that Vagabond, get blown up and see what it feels like to lose all those iskies.
Besides, always fun to be the underdog... forces you to try new things to win instead of relying on brute force blaster tactics. At least im going to try. Not giving up on minnie...

Edited by: Jim McGregor on 24/07/2006 20:20:18 I think the above Vexor would die to my rupture. Makes me happy.
